"Problems of Science" is a scientific monthly addressed to the general public, published by the State Committee for Scientific Research since 1991 and edited now by a team of experienced science journalists.
On 32 pages of each issue the achievements of Polish scientists and research institutes as well as problems connected with scientific activities in Poland (including practical implementation of research) are presented. Particular emphasis is put on dissemination of results of research funded from the state budget. Information regarding the distribution of budgetary expenditures on science is published in four annual supplements.
Apart from articles, interviews, editorial discussions, soundings, news and feature articles, one willl also find there photo-reports concerning scientific research, and as well: galleries of portraits of Polish professors and scientific photos of artistic value. The "Problems of Science" monthly (circulation: 2000 copies) is subscribed by all scientific centres in Poland and by subscribers outside the area of science. It is also distributed among the decision - making institutions; first of all it is delivered to Members of Parliament.
