Research activities OPI

The Information Processing Centre has been realizing the research projects related

to the scientific and technical information; conducting works concerning the transfer of the results of research from the sphere of science to economy and the implementation of novel technologies into small and medium-sized enterprises.
The research works conducted at the Information Processing Centre are strictly connected with the directions of the state policy on science and technology and programmes for the development of the scientific and technical information in Poland as well as with Poland's offer in the field of the scientific information for the European Union. These works are also aimed at the adjustment of Polish standards related to the scientific information and being in force in our country to those being in force in EU countries, and the development of even more thorough analyses for the needs of OECD and UE, to meet due obligations undertaken by Poland.

The R&D works conducted by the Information Processing Centre include the following topics;

preparation of Polish research establishments and SMEs for participation in the 6th EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development and in the other international research programmes and projects,

support for decision-making processes related to the State policy in the area of science, technology and innovation, including technology transfer from science to enterprises, development of programmes concerning Poland's offer in the field of the scientific information for the European Union, forms of information collection and dissemination as well as the needs of information users,

support for the processes of information society development through assessment of conditions for constructing the modern information systems, leading to better use of the opportunities and restriction of the threats,

assistance for the policy of the State Committee for Scientific Research and the Ministry of Economy concerning the implementation of scientific achievements into economy, in the framework of activities under the banner of "Science for the economy",

assessment of conditions leading to increasing the innovativeness of Polish enterprises.
